BREAKING NEWS: It's Pretty Outside

Here’s your Five-Day Forecast:

Wednesday: ‘Chamber of Commerce’ weather is on tap. Glorious sunshine will illuminate the green foliage. Have a jacket handy this evening when you go for a post-dinner walk as temperatures dip into the low 40s. Winds light and variable.

Thursday: It’ll be hard to improve on Wednesday’s weather, but Thursday will give it a run for its money. The skies will be equally clear, and temperatures will get a bump toward 70. Stay hydrated when you work out in the yard.

Friday: Don’t let the increase in cloud cover dampen your “end-of-the-week” mood. If the late afternoon gets clouded-up more than is acceptable, eat some ice cream with a friend. Not quite as warm. A sprinkle, perhaps, when you let your dog out one last time before you go to bed. Lows around 50.

Saturday: You’ll notice the increased humidity as you sip your coffee in your bathrobe on your back porch. Be mindful of how much leg you’re showing as the foliage isn’t fully leafed out, and your neighbors will be outside sipping their coffee, too. A chance for an afternoon thundershower shouldn’t wreck your plans to see your grandkids play rec-league soccer. Mild, with a slight breeze.

Sunday: Pleasant with a chance of showers. The sun will poke through the clouds about the time you’ll be headed to Sunday School. Think about how the clouds’ shadows give the Balsams depth and complexity as you offer a prayer of thanksgiving. The sun will be warm when our fellowship spills out onto the church’s front steps. An umbrella won’t be necessary until later. Highs near 70. Some might wish to have a light sweater in worship as the air conditioning will be on.

On the Horizon: More moisture to welcome the workweek will necessitate weed eating by mid-week. Pace yourself. Be sure to shower up earlier than usual from your yard work on Wednesday so that you can join us in the MFC at 5:30 PM for our final Sylva First Wednesday of the spring.
