1st Explorers After-School Ministry Update

With the theme “Taking Care of Our Body through Nutrition,” 1st Explorers enjoyed a busy week that included lots of activities and a delicious snack.  On Monday, the children learned about macro nutrients and how they help our bodies.  On Tuesday, staff member Donnie Smith made pizza toast and there was a discussion about what nutrients are in this yummy snack.

Curtis came from the Health Department on Thursday and talked about the “Daniel Diet” and how Scripture says it’s important to take care of our bodies.

There was also time to write to Pen Pals, paint flower pots for the Greening Up the Mountains work on the Cuba banner fundraiser, and have GAs, RAs, and Mission Friends.

A fun week!

Hurray for Our Nursery Workers of the Week!

We appreciate Vanessa Bryson and David McDonald serving in the nursery last Sunday.
They always have fun with the children. Thank you both!

On April 21, Melanie and Izzy Joiner will work in the nursery.
Thank you ladies for your help!

There is still room on the schedule to serve “the least of these”
on Sunday mornings.  It is a blessing to see their smiles and enthusiasm as you spend
time with our infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
Please contact Cheryl Beck (cabeck@ncsu.edu) if you would like to help.

Special Guest Preachers THIS Sunday

All are invited to join us as we welcome Reverend Ernesto Bazán Betancourt, Pastor, Kerygma Baptist Church, Holguin, Cuba and his wife, Marisol, to our Church family—in person!! Pastor Ernesto will preach our worship service. This will be followed by a Potluck meal in the MFC where we will share fellowship and learn more about our partner Church. So, please bring your best casseroles and your favorite desserts and let’s share a feast with our honored guests.
