Congregation-Wide Conversation Date Change

Our second congregation-wide conversation has been moved to Wednesday, May 1 to follow our regular first Wednesday Potluck family meal. Dr. Yelton will lead us in a group discussion that will provide information to the Pastor Search Committee team to use in calling a new pastor. Please make every effort to attend as your thoughts and input are so important to making this a successful process. Thank you!

1st Explorers After-School Ministry Update

Assistant Director Kayla Hartman says “This week was great!” Here are some highlights:

“Babysitting Club started Monday and the ones participating are very excited about it and had a lot of fun!”

“The ‘sports’ theme was in full swing this week. Tuesday, the children watched the movie ‘Soul Surfer ‘where they saw lessons of perseverance and determination from the young girl who lost a limb from a shark bite.”

“On Thursday, Christian Hartman came and spoke to the kids about surfing since he has done that sport since he was six years old. The children asked him questions that came up from the movie. They also had a push-up contest.”

“Free time during the week allowed the 1st Explorers to do art while others played games.”

Baptist Children’s Homes of NC Food Roundup

Each year churches, businesses and other community members unite for the Annual Food Roundup which allows hundreds of boys and girls living at Baptist Children's Homes to have their bellies well-fed. The goal is to collect nonperishable food, supplies and gift cards. Gift cards are extremely helpful in purchasing perishable food items. Please see the list of needed items here. We have placed a box in the Loving Kindness Room to receive your gifts.
