A group of 13 women from the WMU Mission Circle at First Baptist Church of Sylva toured HOMEBASE at Western Carolina University. HOMEBASE offers students at WCU who are homeless or who have no housing during semester breaks and holidays temporary housing. Jim Dean, The Director of HOMEBASE, gave a compelling picture of what it is like to be a student in this situation and the many ways HOMEBASE can support the students with care, food, temporary housing, etc. Upon arrival the members of Mission Circle delivered a car full of supplies. Items constantly needed are Paper towels, toilet paper, Kleenex, individual boxes of cereal, individual cups of applesauce, soap. If you would like to donate and help these student continue their education please bring your donation to The Loving Kindness Room and label them HOMEBASE.
