A big shout-out to the newly-organized Acteens missions group for their fund-raising efforts to help with disaster relief in Haywood County! Ellen Mathis mobilized her fellow Acteens to host a lemonade stand on the front steps of the church during the “Greening Up the Mountains Festival” on August 28. Ayslee Griffin, Mattie Moore, Emily Lunnen, Eleanor Brown, Lucie Moore (GA) and Ellen sold lemonade, baked goods, and handmade jewelry netting $734! All the money will go to relief programs in our neighboring county.
The Acteens would like to say a big “thank you” to the adults who assisted with the event. Way to go!
