Janée Angel | Antwerp, Belgium
Janée Angel serves, together with her husband, Hary, in Antwerp, Belgium, working particularly among the Arabic-speaking community, which is ever-growing in the midst of the world refugee crisis.
After working among Arabic speakers in an Arabic/French church in Brussels for six years, Janée and her family moved to Antwerp in a church planting effort to establish the first evangelical Arabic church outside the Brussels area. Today, the church holds weekly services and Bible studies, has a music ministry and children’s program, with Janée hosting women’s events and a prayer group.
Hary leads efforts to meet the many Iraqi and Syrian refugees arriving in Belgium, showing them the love of Christ. Together, Janée and Hary host refugee dinners and open their home to those with nothing. They also help to collect food and clothing for refugees during harsh winter months.
They also often walk the streets of Antwerp in evangelism efforts and have worked to unify the three evangelical Arabic churches in Belgium by planning meetings and united church services. Janée also teaches English in an evangelical school where 50 percent of the students are Muslim.
