Here’s a really old recipe that has stood the test of time.
Ingredients
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Frosting
1 cup brown sugar
6 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons whipping cream
1 cup coconut
Instructions
Mix dry ingredients. Add well-beaten eggs. Heat milk and butter to boiling and add to the rest. Pour into 9 by 12 pan and bake at 350 until browned.
For the frosting, mix the ingredients, heat and spread on the cooled cake. Then brown under the broiler.
