Pecan Kisses

1st Place winner at North Carolina State Fair by NC Pecan Growers, Isabella Lambeth from Wake Forest

Makes: 2 cups of kisses

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 30 minute cook time plus 30 minutes rest time

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg white (beaten stiff)

  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla

  • 2 cups pecan halves

Directions:

  1. Mix together beaten egg white, brown sugar, and vanilla.

  2. Drop pecan halves in the wet mixture to cover completely.

  3. Take pecans out individually and place on a greased baked sheet (17 1/4 x 11 1/2 x 1 inch) two inches apart.

  4. Bake at 250 degrees for 30 minutes.

  5. After 30 minutes, turn off oven and leave pecan kisses in the oven for an additional 30 minutes.

  6. take out of oven and place in a bowl.

  7. ENJOY!
