Sock-it-to-Me Cake

  • 1 package Duncan Hines Butter Recipe Golden Cake Mix

  • 1 cup dairy sour cream

  • 1/3 cup Crisco Oil or Puritan Oil

  • 1/4 cup sugar 

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 4 eggs 

For Filling: 

  • 2 tablespoons reserved cake mix

  • 2 cup finely chopped pecans 

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 

For Glaze:

  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar

  • 2 tablespoons milk

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease and flour 10-inch tube pan. For the filling, combine 2 tablespoons cake mix, nuts, brown sugar, and cinnamon and set aside. Put remaining dry cake mix, sour cream, oil, sugar, water, and eggs into a large mixer bowl. Beat for 2 minutes at high speed. Turn two-thirds of batter into pan; sprinkle with filling. Spoon remaining batter evenly over filling mixture. 

Bake at 375 degrees for 45 to 55 minutes; cake is done if toothpick inseted in center comes out clean. Cool for about 25 minutes right-side up in pan; remove from pan. 

For glaze, blend ingredients and drizzle over cake.
