UCM’s School Break Food Bags Project was a Success!

This past weekend, some of our church family was involved in our annual participation in United Christian Ministries’ School Break Food Bags preparation. The youth helped to pack bags on Saturday afternoon. These bags provide nutrition for children in our county who might not be able to get a good meal without them, especially in our current situation. Bags include vegetables, applesauce, pasta, ramen, cereal, and other food items to ensure that these children have food during the school break. Many of these children have free lunch, and breakfast, when school is in session, so this program fills a gap for them. Our youth are involved in the packing of these bags each year at Christmas and our church is involved in providing the items that fill the bags!

Thank you to Jeff, Zeb, and Ellen Mathis, Summer and Autumn Burnes, Truman and Izzy Joiner, Truman Ayers, Summer Burnes, and Carol Cloer for helping to make this annual event successful.
