Cabbage Tomato Soup

  • 1/2 head cabbage 

  • 2 Tbsp slat

  • 2 Tbsp. shortening

  • 1/2 pint sour cream

  • 1 cup tomato juice

  • 2 Tbsp. flour

  • 1 Tbsp. paprika 

Shred cabbage; add enough water to cover. Add salt. Cook until tender. Melt shortening in skillet. Add flour; brown as for gravy. Add a Tbsp of paprika. Add to cabbage with sour cream. Stir well. Then add 1 cup tomato juice or puree. Let come to a boil.
