Chocolate Sheet Cake

Cake:
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1 stick butter
1 cup water
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup shortening
1 TB vanilla
3 1/2 TB cocoa
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp soda
pinch of salt
2 eggs, beaten
Icing:
1/3 cup milk
1 stick butter
pinch of salt
4 TB cocoa
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans
Combine sugar & flour in mixing bowl.
In a sauce pan combine water, shortening, butter & cocoa & bring just to a boil. Pour this hot mixture over the sugar and flour & stir well.
Add the buttermilk, soda, salt, vanilla & beaten eggs & mix well.
Pour into greased & floured 11X13 baking pan.
Bake at 400 for 20 minutes.
Icing: Bring first 4 ingredients to a boil. Remove from heat & add last ingredients. Stir quickly and spread on hot cake.
