The children’s choir from the Galakticka School is participating in our Roma music recording project. During a break in our first recording session, the nervous children were playing noisily.
I started playing a portion of the first song for the director…and a moment later the room was completely quiet. The children crowded around us, wide-eyed and listening.
“Is that really us?” they asked. They could barely believe their ears.
After that, the kids stood straighter and sang with more confidence—they had heard themselves, and they had a reason to be proud!
Let’s be the ones who encourage and amplify those whose voices are seldom heard—theirs are the voices the world most needs to hear!
