Thankfully, we have passed the active part of the storm in Sylva and the area. It has left many in the community in need of care.
How can we care for you? Food, bottled water and emails or phone calls to loved ones? Please let us know by calling or stopping by the church office.

Ingredients
Crust
1 package Pillsbury Plus Devil’s Food Cake Mix
1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened
1 egg
Topping
14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1 1/4 cups flaked coconut
1 cup chopped nuts
Instructions
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease 13” x 9” pan. In large bowl, combine crust ingredients. Mix at low speed until well combined; mixture will be crumbly. Press evenly into bottom of greased pan.
In small bowl, combine condensed milk, vanilla, and egg; beat until smooth. Stir in 1 cup coconut and nuts; pour mixture over crust. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup coconut over top.
Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely. Cut into bars. Makes 36 bars.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Church Homecoming Committee has decided to cancel Homecoming that was scheduled for Sunday, October 13. We will not reschedule due to our upcoming advent and holiday season.
Job Description: Would meet with the young men in grades two to six on Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Work on character building, missions education, teamwork. Build in fun and active play, too! Requires someone with a love for children, has lots of patience, and likes having fun. Materials are provided by WMU. Start date: Immediately.
