UPDATED Deacon/ Trustee Ballot

Attached, here, is our Deacon/ Trustee ballot for 2019. Several adjustments have been made since the ballot was presented to the church this past Sunday.

This new ballot will be printed on blue paper and will be available to the church on Sunday morning. We will be given the chance to vote during the worship hour. Your signed and completed ballot must be submitted to the church no later than the end of worship on Sunday, March 31.

If you are unable to be in worship this Sunday, you may pick-up an updated ballot and turn it in to the church office during work hours this week.

Thank you for your prayerful attention to our discernment process.

Secondary Benefits

unnamed.jpg

It takes two soccer balls, two goal posts, 25 jerseys and an empty sand lot. Open the doors and 60 neighborhood kids show up for Sunday afternoon soccer club. A start up cost of about 100 dollars and it is set to go for 6 months.

Mike Hutchinson, CBF field personnel in Lomé helps 4 young Christian men form the soccer club. They learn how to plan, organize, work within a budget and then evaluate the program as it goes along.

Forming leaders who can share their new skills in developing their community is the goal of the program, the kids having a great time playing soccer is a secondary benefit.

We begin with a Bible verse and end in a circle with a prayer. Join our prayers with us!

United Christian Ministries.png

United Christian Ministries is celebrating its 30th year of serving Jackson County folk who have many needs. Let us help with the celebration by donating “30 Somethings”. Use your imagination – 30 rolls of toilet tissue, $30, 30 pounds of potatoes, etc. Work together with your Sunday School class, or your mission group, or the choir, or the staff. Let Tia know what you have done so it will be acknowledged as a challenge to others. In March fill the UCM donation box with “30 Somethings”.

These folks have responded!

Faith/Grace SS Class    $30
Joy SS Class                    30 lbs. potatoes + 20 bags coffee + cooking oil
Forrest Bryson Class     Case of Ramen noodles
