Summer Camp begins on June 19th and some of you have asked about some ways in which you can help as we prepare for camp. Please read the list below to learn about some of our needs as we prepare. Consider keeping this list in your wallet so that way when you visit the store you’ll know what items to purchase.

VBS Snacks

If you are interested in donating snacks to be used in Vacation Bible School (June 12-16 at Bridge Park from 9 AM to Noon) please contact Megan Harris or bring them to the church office! 
Snacks needed are: Goldfish, animal crackers, fruit snacks, water, etc. 

Usher Team Letter

Dear Church Members,

    First off, let me thank you for volunteering to be ushers for a new year. I am happy to report we have quite a few people that have come back from last year to help and have some new ones as well. I think we will have a great year and can assist our church in a great way like I know we can. We will be having a meeting this Sunday, June 4th,  immediately following the worship service in the sanctuary, front row, to better talk about what will be happening, what we need from you and to take any questions or thoughts you may have. I hope you will make plans to join us. The meeting should take no more than 10-15 minutes so as to not keep you long. Again, thank you for volunteering and helping to serve our church. I look forward to meeting and working with you in this coming year. If you have any questions between now and then or can’t make it please let me know and I will fill you in on what you have missed.

Shining Stars

We all have people in our lives who have made a real difference.  It's not too late to recognize them through our WMU Shining Stars project.  Remember, for each person recognized, include $10, write down their name and put it in the Special Offerings envelope or turn in to the church office by May 31st. (Make checks payable to FBC.) Look for their "star" on the bulletin board outside the choir room.  All contributions help fund WMU NC projects.  This is a great way to honor someone and to help someone at the same time!

Thank You to Tollie's Landscaping!

Thank you to our Building and Grounds Team for working with Tollie's Landscaping to have our playground mulched. Tollie's also donated a new area with special mulch under our tire swing.

1st Explorers Staff Appreciation Week

1st Explorers Staff Appreciation week will be April 24 - 28, 2017

Angie Powell is helping coordinate ways that we can say thank you to our staff below is a list of what is planned for each day. 

Monday- Donuts and Coffee
Tuesday- Cookies and Drinks
Wednesday- Adult Goodie Bags
Thursday- Chocolate from Baxleys
Friday- Provide a late lunch for them when they come to work. 
Our staff is very dedicated to making sure children are learning about God and learning - this is an opportunity to say thank you to them for all of their hard work. Please join us in saying thank you!

Easter Egg Hunt

Please donate Easter eggs to the church office by Friday for our annual egg hunt following the worship service on Easter Sunday! And parents, remember to bring a bag or bucket for your kids to hunt eggs with!

Men's Ramp Crew Helps Our Community

Special thanks to our men who gather on occasional Tuesdays to build ramps for senior adults who need assistance getting in and out of their homes. If you are interested in assisting and helping out, contact Frank Wilkie or Dennis Wilkey.
