As we welcomed Vicki Lewis into our membership recently, the loud affirmative vote of "YES" was heard throughout the sanctuary. Vicki shares that she is the mother of three and has worked as a nurse for 40 years. Currently, she is nursing supervisor administrator of Southwestern Nurse Family Partnership. Welcome, Vicki!

Each week we include a recipe in the Church Chimes and we hope that you are enjoying reading and trying them. You can add your favorite recipes to the Chimes by sending them to Cheryl Beck at cabeck@ncsu.edu. This is an ongoing WMU project.

New Family-Care Program
We are initiating the Family-Care program which is similar to the Deacon-Care program we had for years. This time the program will use volunteer church members along with some deacons.
In the next month you will be receiving the name of the person who has volunteered to be your family care person. This person will connect with you and work in close liaison with you and your family. You can contact this person in a time of crisis, in a time of joy, when church concerns or questions arise, or just to talk.
If you would like to volunteer to be a member-care person, please contact Jennie Hunter (828 399-0623 jnnhunter@aol.com) or Ann Melton (828 421-7689 meltonann@att.net).
Royal Ambassadors Needs Leader
We are still in need of a leader for Royal Ambassadors. Please be in prayer that someone will come forward to teach these wonderful boys.
Sunday School and Childcare is Available!
Hurray for Our Nursery Workers of the Week!
Thank you to Beth, Lucie, and Mattie Moore for serving in the church nursery this week.
You are always so faithful to help!
Next Sunday, February 4, Brooke Drum will serve in the nursery. Thank you, Brooke,
for your good service in the nursery.
There is still room on the schedule to serve “the least of these”
on Sunday mornings. It is a blessing to see their smiles and enthusiasm as you spend
time with our infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
Please contact Cheryl Beck (cabeck@ncsu.edu) if you would like to help.

Let's show our love to the Wier family by showering them with books for their little one. It could be a favorite title from your own childhood or your children's, books on nature, etc. All books will be enjoyed! Bring your wrapped book(s) with a card and place them in the basket in the vestibule from now until February 4. Thank you for contributing to our basket of books and love for Paige and her family!
More Good News
Baptist Student Fellowship students at WCU of which our intern, Kaitlyn Cabaniss, is a member, have been invited to join us each first Wednesday evening of the month beginning February 7 during spring semester.
They will share our delicious potluck (5:15 – 6:00 p.m.), rich fellowship, and enlightening evening Bible Study (6:00-6:45 p.m.) led by our new interim pastor, Joe Yelton. So ... when preparing your best foods, bring extra for our guests! Spending time dining together around our tables will give us the opportunity to engage in conversation as we begin showing our love and support for these our young fellow Christians who are living and learning away from home. Let’s welcome them in a BIG way with open hearts and the warmth of Christian love.
