Vacation Bible School will be here before you know it! The date for our community VBS is June 12-16. First Baptist is in charge of the set-up and take-down each day, the daily Bible story, and youth activities. Be thinking about how you can help with this very important summer event!
Recipes Appreciated!
Each week we include a recipe in the Church Chimes and we hope that you are enjoying reading and trying them. You can add your favorite recipes to the Chimes by sending them to Cheryl Beck at cabeck@ncsu.edu. This is an ongoing WMU project.
Thanks for participating!
United Christian Ministries' Director Retiring in May
Our executive director, Karen Johnson, is retiring (again) at the end of May. We are so thankful for the time, energy, and love that she has poured into UCM in her years here. Her departure means that we are interviewing for a new executive director. If you know of anyone seeking work with a heart for ministry, please refer them to us!
The executive director position is permanent, part-time (30 hours per week). The director oversees all aspects of the food pantry, financial assistance programs, operational procedures, budgeting, etc., and supervises paid staff and our wonderful group of volunteers (about 40!). Applicants may submit a resume to chairucm1@gmail.com.
Ramp-Building Project
Scott McConnell and the Department on Aging are seeking volunteers to build another ramp. The date is Wednesday, April 12 with location and time TBD. Please call, text or email Scott if you are interested and available. Scott wishes to thank Arlin Middleton, Dennis Wilkey, and Gary Frye for their help with the last ramp.

Join us for a season of discovery as we learn how our personal narrative has shaped and influenced our lives. With the help of the enneagram and the book, The Story of You: An Enneagram Journey to Becoming Your True Self by Ian Cron, we will learn the joy of knowing that God helps us write a new and healthier story to live by. This multi-week experience will serve as both an introduction and enrichment to the enneagram as a tool for better understanding ourselves in relationship to the world around us. Please RSVP by Monday, March 6 at noon for childcare in advance by contacting our church office: 828-586-2095, fbcsylva@gmail.com.
